How Premium Tracking and Klaviyo Work Together

AfterShip Premium Tracking can send enabled order and shipment events to Klaviyo. Klaviyo records those events as metrics, which can trigger your configured email or SMS flows.

The data flow

1. An order or shipment is imported into Premium Tracking.

Premium Tracking receives the order and shipment information, including the tracking number and available customer details.

2. The carrier sends a shipment update.

Examples include:

  • In Transit

  • Out for Delivery

  • Delivered

  • Failed Delivery Attempt

  • Shipment Exception

  • Estimated Delivery Date Revised

3. Premium Tracking processes the update.

If that event is enabled for your Klaviyo integration, Premium Tracking sends the event data to your connected Klaviyo account.

4. Klaviyo records the event as an AfterShip metric.

The metric is associated with the customer profile using the identifier sent by Premium Tracking, such as an email address or phone number.

5. The corresponding Klaviyo flow can begin.

If you have an active flow that uses the AfterShip metric as its trigger, Klaviyo evaluates the flow settings and sends the configured email or SMS when the customer is eligible.

Example

UPS reports that order #1234 is Out for Delivery → Premium Tracking processes the update → Klaviyo records an AfterShip: Delivery Updates – Out for Delivery metric for the customer → the corresponding Klaviyo flow begins.
