Once the order is shipping to a pickup location it is important to ensure you have sufficient shipping notifications to communicate with your customer the expectations around this service.

FedEx will hold a package for 5 calendar days, whereas UPS will hold for 7 calendar days. If your customer needs additional holding days they can request that through their account through the carrier site. If the package is not picked up before that time expires then the package will be returned to sender thus increasing the risk of damage.

Through Premium Tracking you can create an Available for Pickup notification flow that can retrigger a notification to your customer if it has not been picked up in X number of days.
