Initializing Inventory
Why Inventory Initialization Is Important
For proper inventory tracking and Wineshipping integration workflows, inventory must be initialized and have an Inventory Status of On for the item at the appropriate inventory location.
When inventory has not been initialized:
Orders may fail to transmit properly to fulfillment partners.
Inventory quantities cannot be accurately tracked.
Orders may reference invalid or missing inventory location information.
Initializing inventory creates the inventory record needed for Commerce7 to track stock levels and associate the item with a shipping location.
How to Initialize Inventory
For detailed instructions, refer to the Commerce7 documentation:
[Individual Product] [Initialize in Bulk]
Verifying Inventory Initialization
After initialization:
The inventory status should display as On.
The item should be associated with the intended inventory location.
Inventory quantities should be visible and editable.
New orders should reference the correct inventory location.
If inventory is already initialized and order issues persist, reach out to service@wineshipping.com for assistance or refer to the troubleshooting guides for more assistance. See Order Import Error - Location ID for more troubleshooting steps.
