Queued Publishing

Queued Publishing controls when future-dated orders are sent to the Warehouse Management System (WMS).

This workflow applies to orders that:

  • Have been released from the Action Center

  • Have a requested ship date more than 14 days in the future

How Queued Publishing Works

When an order is released from the Action Center:

  • If the requested ship date is more than 14 days away, the order moves to:
Open Orders → Received – Queued Publishing

The order will remain in this status until:

  • The requested ship date reaches the 14-day threshold.

At that point:

  • The order automatically publishes to WMS for warehouse processing.

No manual action is required.

Why This Exists

Queued Publishing allows future-dated orders to:

  • Reserve inventory in advance

  • Remain editable prior to warehouse processing

  • Be reprioritized using Force Reserve (if necessary)

This protects inventory planning while preventing premature warehouse activity.
