This guide explains how to:

  • Add a pickup location

  • Edit a pickup location

  • Remove a pickup location

Shipping to a pickup location can reduce damages and returns while providing a convenient customer experience.


Before You Begin

Orders must be editable to update a pickup location.

If the order is already in active warehouse processing or shipped, contact service@wineshipping.com for assistance.


Add a Pickup Location

Step 1: Locate the Order

Search using:

  • Order number

  • Recipient name

  • Address

Use Spotlight Search if you are unsure where the order is located.

Step 2: Open the Order

Click the Order Number to open order details.

On the right side, you will see three address sections:

  • Ship To

  • Billing Information

  • Delivery Address

Step 3: Add the Pickup Location

Scroll to the Delivery Address section and click the pencil icon.

You can:

  • Enter the pickup location manually

  • Click Add Pickup Location to search for approved carrier pickup locations near the Ship To address

You may filter by carrier to view only available locations.

Click Save to update the order.


Edit a Pickup Location

To change an existing pickup location:

  1. Open the order.

  2. Click the pencil in the Delivery Address section.

  3. Either:

    • Manually update the address, or

    • Use Add Pickup Location to select a new approved location.

Click Save to apply changes.


Remove a Pickup Location

To remove a pickup location:

  1. Open the order.

  2. Click the pencil in the Delivery Address section.

  3. Click Clear Delivery Section.

  4. Click Save.

The order will then ship to the Ship To address instead.


Communication and Holding Policies

When shipping to a pickup location:

  • FedEx holds packages for 5 calendar days.

  • UPS holds packages for 7 calendar days.

If not picked up within the hold period, the package is returned to sender, increasing risk of damage.

Customers may request extended hold time directly through the carrier.

If using Premium Tracking, you may configure an Available for Pickup notification flow to remind customers. A pre-built template is available by contacting service@wineshipping.com.


Important Notes

  • Changing the Ship To address does not override the Delivery Address if one is entered.

  • Pickup locations must be approved alcohol-accepting carrier locations.

  • Removing the Delivery Address restores standard delivery behavior.
