Tomato Red - October 16th, 2026

The Tomato Red release introduces new Special Handling exceptions and separate handling for physical bundles, winery logo management and Premium Gift Card updates, consistent item views, and interface improvements.

  1. Special Handling

  2. Premium Gift Cards

  3. Item management

  4. Interface and usability improvements

1. Special Handling

Special Handling now separates handling from Rule Center and from physical bundles, supports packaging items as boxes, and catches more order problems before they reach the warehouse.

What's new:

  • Separate Rule Center and bundle special handling: each bundle and standalone item gets only the handling meant for it.

  • Packaging items as boxes: Packaging items can be set up as gift or wood boxes, like Merchandise.

  • Two new exceptions: Incompatible Box, and Box SKU Required for Bow.

  • Clearer Incompatible Items message: the message now lists the SKUs causing it.

1.1 Rule Center and physical bundle special handling applied separately

Previously, special handling from Rule Center and from physical bundles was combined for the whole order. Now, each one applies only where it belongs, so every bundle and standalone item gets the right instructions.

Key Enhancements:

  • Rule Center special handling: Applies to every item in the order, both bundles and standalone items.

  • Bundle special handling: Applies only to the items in that physical bundle, together with the order's Rule Center special handling. If both sources add the same option, it is applied once. Bundle special handling can't be removed from the bundle.

  • No conflicting packaging: A bundle never gets both Woodbox Packing and Giftbox Packing. If Rule Center packaging conflicts with a bundle's packaging, the Rule Center option still applies to standalone items.

  • Order details: The Special Handlings section is now called Rule Center Special Handlings, with a tooltip: "These special handling options apply to every item in the order." Each physical bundle in the items list shows its own special handling on hover.

  • Grids and history: The Special Handling column in Action Center, Open Orders and Order History shows the combined options, each listed once. Order history records Rule Center and bundle special handling separately, for example: "Special handling added via physical bundle: 06MEXXX (Bottle Labelling, Giftbox Packing)".

1.2 Packaging items can be set up as gift or wood boxes

Packaging items can now be marked as boxes, just like Merchandise items. Turn on This item is a packaging box when creating or editing a Packaging item with UOM Each, then set the Box Type (Gift Box or Wood Box), Bottle Quantity in the Box and UOM. Packaging boxes now work with physical bundle validation and box packing Special Handling exceptions, the same way merchandise boxes do. A packaging box added to a bundle with no box packing selected now shows an error asking you to select Woodbox or Giftbox Packing, or remove the item.

1.3 New exception: Incompatible Box

A new Special Handling Exception (Incompatible Box) appears when the order requests Woodbox or Giftbox Packing but the box SKU on the order is the other box type. The message names the box SKU and the required box type, for example: "Box SKU {SKU} is a Gift Box, but the special handling instructions require Wood Box. Update the box SKU to match the requested packaging." The exception clears once the box SKU matches or the packing option is removed.

1.4 New exception: Box SKU Required for Bow

A new Special Handling Exception (Box SKU Required for Bow) appears when Apply Adhesive Bow to Box is selected but the order has no merchandise or packaging SKU set up as a Gift Box or Wood Box. The exception clears once you add a matching box SKU or remove the bow option.

Both new exceptions also apply to existing orders when they are edited or resubmitted. You can filter by them in the Status filter, and they appear in the Action Center orders export.

1.5 More improvements

  • Clearer Incompatible Items message: The Bottle Bagging exception now lists the SKUs that aren't individual 750 mL bottles, so you can see which items to remove or split into a separate order.

2. Premium Gift Cards

Wineries can now manage their logos in one place and choose from more card formats for Premium Gift Cards.

What's new:

  • Logos tab: a new place in the Resource Library to keep winery logos.

  • Logo upload rules: uploads check the file type and name before saving.

  • Logo selection and new card format: pick a saved logo, and use the new 4 × 6 in card.

  • Gift Message preferences: clearer options and descriptions in Account Preferences.

  • Card preview: temporarily unavailable.

2.1 Logos tab in the Resource Library

The Resource Library has a new Logos tab, where users with edit access can upload, replace and delete winery logos one at a time. Logos also appear in the All tab, and logos already in use for gift cards have been moved there automatically. Long logo names are shortened in the list to 50 characters.

2.2 Logo upload rules

Logo uploads now check the file before it is saved, so every logo works for gift cards and is easy to find.

Key Enhancements:

  • File type: Only JPG and JPEG logos are accepted.

  • Unique names: Logo names can be up to 25 characters, can't contain spaces, and must be unique within the winery. Names are compared without the file extension and regardless of case, so Logo1.jpg and LOGO1.JPEG count as the same name.

  • Clear messages: For example, "A logo with this name already exists for this winery." or "This logo file is too large. Please upload a smaller file."

  • Owner: The Owner field is locked for logo files, with a tooltip: "The owner cannot be changed for logo files."

  • Other Resource Library files: Uploading a file in an unsupported format is now blocked with a message listing the accepted formats (PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT, XLS, XLSX, CSV).

2.3 Logo selection and new card format

In Premium Gift Card Settings, you can now pick a saved logo from a searchable drop-down instead of uploading it every time. If the winery has no saved logos, the drop-down is disabled with the tooltip "No logos are available. Upload a logo to continue." and you are guided to the Resource Library to upload one. You can set any logo as the Default by hovering over it. Logos already in use have been marked as default.

The card format list now includes the default Wineshipping card (6 × 4 in) and the customer-provided 7 × 5 in and folded 7 × 10 in cards. The preview shows the selected logo on the selected format.

2.4 Clearer Gift Message preferences

In Account Preferences, the Giftings section is now called Gift Message and appears after Packing Slip in the navigation. The delivery options are listed as Print on a Gift Card (recommended; per-card fee applies) and Print on Packing Slip (free), with clearer descriptions. The Gift Card option adds Extend your brand and Card stock information, with links to the rate card in the Resource Library and to the Knowledge Base.

2.5 More improvements

  • Card preview temporarily unavailable: The Generate Card Preview button is disabled for now, with the tooltip "Card preview is temporarily unavailable." It will return in an upcoming release.

3. Item management

Item details now open in a new, consistent View and Edit window across more item types.

What's new:

  • Wine items: a new View and Edit window.

  • Virtual items: the same new View and Edit window.

  • Bundles table: a new Special Handling column.

  • Inventory page: the same item view as Manage Items.

3.1 New View and Edit window for Wine items

Clicking a Wine item's number in the Items grid now opens the same View and Edit window used for Merchandise items. Fields are read-only until you click the Edit icon (shown if you have edit permission). The title changes from View Wine Item to Edit Wine Item as you edit. The window shows the item category with its icon and description, and keeps the Deactivate Item action. Some field names are clearer, for example Bottle size (ml), Alcohol by Volume and How many items per Wholesale Case. Validation, permissions and saving work as before.

3.2 New View and Edit window for Virtual items

Tasting fee and Ice Pack items in the Virtual items grid now open in the same new View and Edit window, with the item category information, the Edit icon and the Deactivate Item action. Fields, validation and permissions are unchanged.

3.3 Special Handling column for bundles

The Manage Items → Bundles table has a new Special Handling column after SKU Components. It shows the special handling options set for each physical bundle, separated by semicolons, with the full list on hover when the text is too long. Bundles without special handling show -.

3.4 More improvements

  • Item view on the Inventory page: Opening an item from the Inventory page now shows the same view as Manage Items. It is view-only, without Edit or Deactivate.

4. Interface and usability improvements

This release continues the ACP visual refresh, making pages more consistent and easier to use on any screen size.

What's new:

  • Create item: one simple flow from any tab.

  • Tabs: easier navigation on every screen size.

  • Address Book: refreshed Customer and Location drawers.

  • Hold statuses: clearer colors.

  • Search settings: a redesigned popover.

  • Custom Report Subscriptions: an updated page header.

  • Smaller visual updates: more consistency across ACP.

4.1 Simpler "Create item" flow

Previously, the Create item button opened a different page depending on which tab of the Items table was active. Now, clicking Create item from any tab (Items, Virtual items or Bundles) always opens the same Choose item type page. The page shows every item type, grouped into Items (Wine, Merchandise, Marketing material, Packaging, Supplies), Virtual items (Tasting fee, Ice pack) and Bundles (Virtual bundle, Physical bundle).

The same responsive layout now also applies to the Inventory Movements, Copy Order, Change Type and Report Subscriptions selection pages.

4.2 Easier tab navigation on every screen

Tabs are now more compact, and the tab bar scrolls smoothly when the tabs don't fit on screen. Tabs keep their full width and are never cut off.

Key Enhancements:

  • Scroll arrows: Left and right arrows appear on all screen sizes, including mobile, and scroll the tab row by about one screen width. An arrow is disabled when you reach the start or end of the row.

  • More ways to scroll: You can also swipe, use Shift + mouse wheel, or scroll sideways on a trackpad.

  • Selected tab always in view: Clicking a tab that is only partly visible scrolls it fully into view.

4.3 Refreshed Address Book drawers

The Customer and Location record drawers in the Address Book now follow the common ACP layout, in both the create and edit flows. Spacing is more consistent, and the Save button has moved to the drawer header. In the edit flow it is now called Confirm changes. In the Location drawer, the TTB Registry Number field matches the Ship To section, with its tooltip icon inside the field.

4.4 Clearer colors for Hold statuses

Hold statuses are easy to tell apart again. Fulfillment Hold is now cyan, Weather Hold stays amber, and On Hold (and its sub-statuses, such as Credit Hold) is yellow.

4.5 Redesigned search settings

The search settings popover, where you switch between multiple-record and single-record search, has a new design. Clicking an option applies it immediately, and one option is always selected. On smaller screens, the options stack in a single column.

4.6 Updated header for Custom Report Subscriptions

The create and view pages for custom report subscriptions now use the standard ACP header, which gets a soft gradient when you scroll. On wide screens, the content keeps a comfortable fixed width instead of stretching.

4.7 More improvements

  • Sentence-case labels on Manage Items: Buttons, column headers, filters and sorting options on the Items, Virtual items and Bundles tabs now use sentence case, in line with the rest of ACP.

  • Global Search background: Global Search now uses the standard modal background, so it stands out clearly from the page behind it.

  • Lighter Halloween decorations: The spider web decoration is now faded or removed, so it no longer covers buttons or other controls.
