Location ID Error

The Wineshipping Integration uses Commerce7 inventory location information to determine:

  • Which orders should transmit into ACP

  • Which inventory location should sync inventory updates

  • How item changes are handled during Exchanges or Refunds

If Commerce7 sends an order with an invalid, missing, or mismatched inventory location, the order may fail to transmit or generate a Location ID error.

What Does a Location ID Error Mean?

If Commerce7 sends an order with an invalid, missing, or mismatched inventory location, the order may fail to transmit and generate a Location ID error.

During order import, ACP validates the inventory location attached to the order and compares it against the location configured in the Wineshipping Integration.

If ACP cannot validate the location, the order may fail to process.

Common symptoms include:

  • Orders not transmitting into ACP

  • Order import failure notifications

  • Inventory sync issues

  • Missing orders

  • Location ID errors in logs

  • Refund/restock behavior not updating as expected

Why This Happens

This can happen for two reasons:

  1. Most common - The item inventory status is turned off.

    • During item creation, the Track Inventory option is disabled by default. If left unchanged, the item inventory status remains Off.

  2. Rare - The incorrect shipping location was selected in the Location setting within the Commerce7 page in ACP.

Why is this so important?

If you use the Retransmit a Changed Order setting then all items on a shipping order must have an inventory status of "On". This information allows the integration to identify changes made through Exchanges or Refunds and properly apply those updates within ACP.
