Order Import Failure - Location Id Error
The Wineshipping Shopify Integration uses Shopify fulfillment location information to determine:
Which orders should transmit into ACP
Which inventory location should sync inventory updates
Which fulfillment location should receive each item on an order
If Shopify sends an order with an invalid, missing, or mismatched fulfillment location, the order may fail to transmit into ACP or generate a Location ID error.
What Does a Location ID Error Mean?
During order import, ACP validates the Shopify fulfillment location assigned to the order and compares it with the location mapped in the Wineshipping Shopify Integration.
If ACP cannot validate the location, the order may fail to process.
Common symptoms include:
Orders not transmitting into ACP
Order import failure notifications
Inventory sync issues
Missing orders
Location ID errors in logs
Orders split between unexpected fulfillment locations
Why This Happens
A Location ID error can occur for several reasons:
The order was assigned to the wrong Shopify fulfillment location.
Shopify may assign an order to a location that is not mapped in ACP or is not intended to fulfill the order.
The Shopify location does not match the location mapped in ACP.
The Shopify location name must match the location configured in the Shopify Integration settings in ACP.
Inventory is not available at the intended Shopify location.
If an item is unavailable at the intended location, Shopify routing rules may assign the item or order to another location.
Shopify routing rules split the order between locations.
Shopify can split fulfillments when different items are available at different locations. Each item must be assigned to the appropriate fulfillment location.
Why Is This Important?
The fulfillment location determines where the order and its items should be sent for fulfillment.
Incorrect location assignments can cause:
Orders to fail to import
Items to be sent to the wrong fulfillment location
Inventory to sync incorrectly
Orders to split unexpectedly
Additional manual review and correction
Special Cases
Split Fulfillments
Shopify can split one customer order into multiple fulfillments when items are assigned to different locations.
If your account uses split fulfillments:
Review each item on the Shopify order.
Confirm every item is assigned to the correct fulfillment location.
Identify why Shopify split the order if the split was not expected.
Review Shopify routing rules and inventory availability at each location.
In ACP:
Go to Apps → Shopify.
Confirm the Split Fulfillment setting is enabled if your workflow requires Shopify orders to transmit as separate fulfillments by location.
Send All SKUs
The Send All SKUs setting helps ensure that SKUs associated with a location are sent on the order, including SKUs that have not yet been created in ACP.
In ACP:
Go to Apps → Shopify.
Confirm Send All SKUs is enabled when your workflow requires all SKUs associated with the selected location to transmit.
⚠️ This setting should reflect your intended fulfillment workflow. Review the order and location assignment before enabling or changing the setting.
